We know that youth are not only the future of the Church -- they are the Church now. As valued members of our church, Youth Ministry at CBS provides resources and opportunities to help youth grow in their faith, grow in fellowship with one another, feel at home at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, and have the tools they need to live a life of faith and action in the universal Church.
Practically, Charis is our name for all youth ministry activities -- from our weekly or bi-weekly small group meetings, to our monthly fellowship events.
Pray
Pray with and for the youth at CBS -- they are the Church! Support and encourage your child as they pursue holiness. Set an example for the youth of the parish by being involved and fostering your own faith life.
Mentor
In the U.S., there are 1,700 Catholic young people to every 1 paid youth minister. Young people need adult mentors who will walk with them on their journey of faith and invest deeply in them. Young people need you. Small group leaders are needed to help students dig deep into their faith and connect with the Church. Prior experience isn't necessary, just an open mind!
Chaperone
We have many "off site" events throughout the year -- please volunteer to drive students to service or social events. All chaperones must complete a 20 minute training module online, the diocesan Safe Environment training, and ride with one other Safe & Sacred trained adult. Contact Erin or fill out this form for more information.
Feed
Teens are hungry! If your child is involved in youth ministry, we ask for your help making our weekly meetings welcoming by providing snacks at least twice each year.
