Here I am Lord, send me! This ancient verse from Isaiah 6:8 is the response that is hoped for when a man or woman realizes that the Holy Spirit is prompting them to consider that the Lord is calling them to serve His church. And just how are we to participate in that mission? Through our prayers for the many Vocations…men may respond to the call of the Lord to become a Priest, Permanent Deacon or Brother, and women may respond by becoming a Religious Sister or Consecrated Virgin. Participating in our Traveling Chalice program is one way that you can pray for Vocations and assist the Holy Spirit. Sign up to spend a week with the Traveling Chalice in your home and spend time personally or as a family praying for Vocations. For Jesus told us, “Ask and you shall receive.” The operative word is “Ask”. It doesn’t just happen.
Help by signing up to participate. Click on the link below to register for a week of your choosing. On the Sunday of the start of that week, pick up the Traveling Chalice from the table adjacent to the music area in the Sanctuary, place it in a special place somewhere in your home where it can be the focus of your prayer, and then, individually or as a family, gather around it and PRAY! When the week is over, return the Traveling Chalice to the Church and leave it where you picked it up so that the next family can take it home and keep the prayers flowing. How is the Holy Spirit prompting you to serve His church?
